While we celebrate our bounteous economy with its minimum wage laws and healthcare requirements, I must say I cannot recall in my nine-month job search ever running across a job for more than thirty hours a week. Granted, I cannot compete with the average high-school dropout who speaks 56 languages and programs in 32. However, I am convinced that, along with the accelerated math and English coursework kids master before reaching dropout age, a twenty-first century education must also include training for how to convince your bosses you really do need to get to your other jobs when you told them you had to.

About seven sources consulted only regurgitated the press release, and no information was found about whether or not this brewery was to receive magic money from unshifted burdens for government services that obviously don’t cost a thing. Gary Glancy’s report for the Hendersonville Times-News would be the exception. He asked the questions, but he didn’t get any answers. There were only aspersions to a contract that the beer joint did or did not sign with the economic development organization in Brevard.
