Once again, I do not like summits, workshops, and forums where self-proclaimed experts decide how to move pawns (you and me) to win in the game of economics. The route to a strong economy is to quit blogging – er, posturing – and get to work in a valuable and meaningful way. How long have we been directing people into programs, and what has it gotten us?

Regardless, Polk County is going to widen the tent for input on its economic plan.

Commissioner chair Ted Owens suggested making the creation of an equine council one of the plan’s main goals.
