Happy Father’s Day

AB Tech received a $200,000 federal grant to get women to pursue technical fields of study, and people are “excited.” The local daily leaves it to the reader to guess how the college intends to bait the babes and exclude the dudes. We all know that selection based on anything but merit results in a systematic bias toward increased incompetence; and so we must ask what interest the federal government has in dumbing down engineering. Speculations follow:

• The feds want to insult girls’ intelligence by insinuating they cannot get a technical degree on their own and, as a double whammy, tell them they’re so stupid, they’ll vote for whatever administration favors giving them money.
• The government is going to snow the public with education and outreach about some big, infinite energy machine – and it needs useful idiots in key positions to fall for the lie.
• Government is so big and bureaucratic most decision-makers cannot focus on the damage wrecked by myriad willy-nilly expenditures.
• The federal government, having replaced fathers in about a third of American homes, is going after mothers, now.
