Tourists in Buncombe County paid for three years of planning and design for the infamous peeling signs. Now, they are paying for a lawsuit attempting to recover $285,000 from the contractor, L&H Signs. The Tourist Development Authority claims L&H broke the contract by applying an inappropriate adhesive. L&H said they informed the TDA of a problem with their specifications and recommended doing something else. Their recommendation, they say, was rejected.
