Clockwork Emergencies, Huh?

NIOSH released what is probably the final report from the investigation into the fire that claimed the life of the Asheville Fire Department’s Captain Jeff Bowen.

Failure to follow “air management doctrine” and standard procedures for fighting a high rise fire likely contributed to the death.

I support research, training, and drilling to help firefighters perform optimally, and I hope nobody is trying to condemn a fallen hero and the heroes who survived for using discretion under pressure in split-second, life-and-death decisions.
