Sylva Mayor Maurice Moody and Jackson County Chair Jack Debnam have run afoul of local ordinances. They are both the owners of properties rented to sweepstakes parlors, which are not among the 41 permissible uses in the buildings’ zoning. The outfit on Debnam’s property is also using illegal signs.
